Uttar Pradesh: Sugarcane farmers have six days to seek membership, apply for yield increase - ChiniMandi

Kushinagar: Sugarcane farmers have only six days left to become members of sugarcane committees and apply for the benefit of increased sugarcane yield for the upcoming 2026-27 crushing season, Hindustan reported.

Sugarcane cooperatives across the state are holding record-verification camps ahead of the new crushing season. Farmers can check details of their registered cane area, supply arrangements and other records at these camps and seek corrections if they find any discrepancies.

According to the Sugarcane Development Department, farmers who obtain membership of a sugarcane cooperative by September 30 will be eligible to supply cane to sugar mills during the 2026-27 crushing season.

Farmers whose cane yield is higher than the average yield recorded in their district can also apply for an increase in their registered yield by September 30. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be eligible for the benefit.

The department has urged farmers to visit their sugarcane cooperative or the record-verification camps during the remaining days and cross-check their records. Eligible farmers have also been advised to complete their membership and submit applications for increased yield within the deadline so that they do not lose the opportunity to avail themselves of the benefit.

The department has also asked farmers to inform other eligible growers about the membership and application deadlines.
