Eyes on Polls: 25 IPS officers reshuffled in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow (21.09.2026): In a major administrative overhaul apparently in view of 2027 Assembly elections, the Uttar Pradesh government shifted 25 IPS officers and nine PPS officers promoted as IPS which included police commissioners, district-level postings and other wings of the police department. The names and new postings of these officers are as follows:Nine officers who were promoted to IPS from the state cadre were also given postings include Kapil Dev Singh, Gyanendra Nath Prasad, Balwant Kumar Chaudhary, Abhay Nath Tripathi, Harendra Kumar, Rajesh Kumar Pandey, Harendra Pratap Yadav, Kuldeep Singh and Vineet Bhatnagar.

Lucknow (21.09.2026): In a major administrative overhaul apparently in view of 2027 Assembly elections, the Uttar Pradesh government shifted 25 IPS officers and nine PPS officers promoted as IPS which included police commissioners, district-level postings and other wings of the police department. The names and new postings of these officers are as follows:

- Charu Nigam (IPS: 2014: UP) has been shifted from superintendent of police, Lucknow, to commandant of the 47th Battalion PAC, Ghaziabad.

- Shravan Kumar Singh (IPS: 2014: UP) has been transferred from deputy commissioner of police (DCP), Police Commissionerate Kanpur Nagar, to DCP, Police Commissionerate Gautam Buddh Nagar.

- Pramod Kumar (IPS: 2015: UP) has been moved from DCP, Police Commissionerate Varanasi, and posted as superintendent of police, Cyber Headquarters, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow.

- Ravi Shankar Neem (IPS: 2015: UP) has been transferred from DCP, Police Commissionerate Gautam Buddh Nagar, to commandant of the 2nd Battalion SSF, Gorakhpur.

- Atul Sharma (IPS: 2009: UP) has been shifted from DCP, Police Commissionerate Agra, to superintendent of police, Intelligence Headquarters, Lucknow.

- Sonam Kumar (IPS: 2016: UP) has been transferred from DCP, Police Commissionerate Agra, to DCP, Police Commissionerate Prayagraj.

- Ravindra Kumar (IPS: 2016: UP) will move from DCP, Police Commissionerate Kanpur Nagar, to DCP, Police Commissionerate Agra.

- Neeraj Kumar Pandey (IPS: 2016: UP) has been transferred from DCP, Police Commissionerate Prayagraj, to superintendent of police, Police Headquarters, Prayagraj.

- Mamta Rani Chaudhary (IPS: 2017: UP) has been shifted from DCP, Police Commissionerate Lucknow, to superintendent of police, CID, Lucknow.

- Irfan Ansari (IPS: 2017: UP) has been transferred from superintendent of police, Police Headquarters, Prayagraj, to superintendent of police, CBI/CBI-related assignment.

- Saad Mian Khan (IPS: 2018: UP) has been shifted from DCP, Police Commissionerate Gautam Buddh Nagar, to DCP, Police Commissionerate Agra.

- Syed Ali Abbas (IPS: 2018: UP) has been transferred from DCP, Police Commissionerate Agra, to DCP, Police Commissionerate Gautam Buddh Nagar.

- Shruti Srivastava (IPS: 2020: UP) has been shifted from additional commissioner of police, Police Commissionerate Varanasi, to additional commissioner of police, Police Commissionerate Prayagraj.

- Vikram Dahiya (IPS: 2020: UP) has been transferred from additional superintendent of police, Pilibhit, to additional superintendent of police, Chandauli.

- Ayush Srivastava (IPS: 2021: UP) has been shifted from superintendent of police, City, Jaunpur, to superintendent of police, City, Unnao.

- Rajesh Gunawat (IPS: 2021: UP) has been transferred from assistant superintendent of police, Firozabad, to additional deputy commissioner of police, Police Commissionerate Varanasi.

- Ananth Chandrashekhar (IPS: 2021: UP) has been moved from additional superintendent of police, Chandauli, to additional superintendent of police, City, Jaunpur.

- Devesh Chaturvedi (IPS: 2022: UP) has been transferred from assistant superintendent of police, Ayodhya, to additional superintendent of police (West), Ambedkar Nagar.

- Vivek Tiwari (IPS: 2022: UP) has been shifted from assistant superintendent of police, Kheri, to additional superintendent of police (North), Barabanki.

- Sumit Sudhakar Ramteke (IPS: 2022: UP) has been transferred from assistant commissioner of police, Police Commissionerate Kanpur Nagar, to additional superintendent of police (North), Sambhal.

- Ariba Noman (IPS: 2022: UP) has been moved from assistant superintendent of police, Jhansi, to additional deputy commissioner of police, Police Commissionerate Kanpur Nagar.

- Manoj Kumar Yadav (IPS: 2022: UP) has been transferred from assistant superintendent of police, Saharanpur, to additional deputy commissioner of police, Police Commissionerate Agra.

- Rijul (IPS: 2022: UP)has been shifted from additional superintendent of police, Training Directorate, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, to additional deputy commissioner of police, Police Commissionerate Ghaziabad.

- Gautam Rai (IPS: 2022: UP) has been transferred from assistant superintendent of police, Bijnor, to additional superintendent of police (Rural), Bijnor.

- Mavis Tak (IPS: 2022: UP) has been shifted from assistant superintendent of police, Banda, to additional superintendent of police, Sonbhadra.

Nine officers who were promoted to IPS from the state cadre were also given postings include Kapil Dev Singh, Gyanendra Nath Prasad, Balwant Kumar Chaudhary, Abhay Nath Tripathi, Harendra Kumar, Rajesh Kumar Pandey, Harendra Pratap Yadav, Kuldeep Singh and Vineet Bhatnagar.
